From bikepackers to roadies, everyone loves a handlebar bag for stashing extra stuff on the go. What we don't love is damaging our paint. That's where the Fauna Handlebar Bag Support comes in! It provides a secure platform for your bag to rest on, keeping it out of your front wheel and off your headtube, with added stability over rough terrain.
Made from 5mm 304 stainless steel with a black "sandtex" powder coat — similar to what you'd find on a pickup truck bed. It hides scuffs and scratches while reducing wear on your bag.
Installation can be done with just a multi-tool. If you've ever adjusted your bike's stem, it'll be a snap.
We've tested this support up to 6 kg, though we recommend 3–4 kg for everyday off-road use. The all-metal 304 stainless construction is durable and has incredible fatigue life. Accidents happen, and stainless can be bent and straightened without failure.
Which size is right for me?
The support comes in two sizes. The short version is designed for stems under 60 mm (like most mountain bikes), while the long version suits stems 60 mm and longer (road and gravel bikes).
For many riders either size will work — it mostly comes down to personal preference and how much clearance you want between the bag and the headtube. The short version is a little more stiffer under heavier loads.
Compatibility
This support is compatible with most modern bicycles with a threadless 1-1/8" steerer tube. It will not work with bikes that have cables routed along the steerer (typically high end road bikes). Bikes with cables going through the headset and exiting at or above the headset may be compatible — contact us if you have questions about your specific setup.

Lateral Stability
Existing products on the market often suffer from lateral instability, where the support shifts side to side and no longer sits parallel to the bars. We've addressed this a few ways:
- XL support platform — An oversized platform gives the bag more surface area to rest on. Strap it down with bungees or zip ties.
- Optional nylon stabilizing strap (included) — The toothed slots work like a backpack adjuster, letting you run a strap over your bars and stem for lateral stability and added load capacity.
- Optional Kitty Collar (sold separately) — Clamps to the steerer and keys into the support for maximum security and stability.
How it's made
The people behind every Fauna product are based in Canada. Final manufacturing, quality control, packaging and fulfillment are all done in-house at our factory in Vancouver. We source as much Canadian content as possible, but since Canada doesn't produce stainless steel domestically, we partner with manufacturers in Canada and Asia to produce metal parts to our designs. Unlike a bike frame or a soft good, this portion of the process is largely automated and requires minimal human labour.
We think this balance lets us maintain a supply chain we're proud of while keeping our products accessible. Down the road, we hope to bring more of our production in-house.
